FAQ
What is a workshop weekend?
A 3-day, instructor-led weekend where we run the program in a collaborative setting with proctored exams in person during the weekend. Pick up where you left off in your course, or start and finish with the workshop.
Most weekends run Friday evening, all day Saturday, and most of Sunday.
Do I have to attend a workshop?
No. Workshops are included, but optional. You can complete the full program digitally, including digital testing anywhere and anytime. Workshops are intended to offer students additional resources and networking opportunities or simply a different pace and study method.
Can I study digitally and only come for in-person exams?
Yes. Many students use the digital platform first, then attend a workshop weekend to test in person and finish strong. Some students complete the digital product and then only attend day one of the workshop for networking and fun. Workshops are not a replacement for the actual study program/product.
Who can attend?
Aircraft Maintainer students/customers. If you are enrolled, you are eligible to request a seat. It is never recommended to enroll as a student to attend the workshop only. Workshops do not replace the actual study program/product and dates/availability can change at any time.
Which certifications are supported?
Workshops are mixed for FCC GROL (Elements 1 and 3) and NCATT AET. Students can only be enrolled in one course at a time,
so choose your target certification before you request a seat. If you complete your course prior and then only attend day one of the workshop for networking and fun. You can also enroll in another course if you wish.
What should I bring?
Laptop, charger, headphones, and whatever you normally use to study. Any special notes for a location will be listed on that calendar event. It is also a good idea to bring your preferred non-alcoholic beverages and snacks/meals to stay fueled during the workshops. Additionally, you can bring some cash and our admin is happy to make errands to grab whatever snacks or beverages you need or group order lunch.
Can the schedule change?
Yes. Dates and locations can shift with notice. This calendar is the source of truth. Check it before booking travel. If a workshop is not available in your area, each out to us.
Want a workshop in your area?
We need help spreading the word, a local point of contact, and classroom space. Hosting is no-cost.
Use the Host/POC link above if you can support a weekend locally. A POC generally helps get word out, and acts as a local liaison and logistics coordinator. Aircraft Maintainer handles all costs, and aids all students with questions related to the product, certification/credential/license, process, COOL Funding, and more.
